This page brings together the information part of the Lexicon, which consists of a library component. It contains all the sources from which the Lexicon draws data for its pages.

Weblinks to interesting resources

This section presents links to external sites from which you can draw a range of interesting information. Internally, it is divided into the following subject headings (categories):

• Entomological instrument and equipment (sites offering entomological and laboratory supplies, literature and chemicals; the subtitle contains the focus of the site)
• Entomological societies (pages of selected entomological societies with an emphasis on Central Europe; the subtitle includes the society's country code)
• Museums and other institutions (sites of selected museums with an emphasis on Central Europe; the subtitle includes the country code of the museum or institution)
• Pages about Beetles (predominantly specialised sites, dedicated to specific families; the subtitle contains the focus of the site, which is usually the name of the family)
• Other websites (specialised sites, dedicated to macro-photography or specialised software; the subtitle contains the focus of the site)

Links to sites can be searched, in addition to categories, also by title and subtitle.

Intelligence

This section is used to search and view articles produced as part of the regular news monitoring. An overview of information related to information monitoring itself can be found on the Tracked sources page.

Articles can be searched by the following criteria:

• title (title of the article in the original language)
• subtitle (name of the periodical, year, issue, page)
• author
• tag (most of the labels are family names)
• source (title of the periodical)
• year (the year in which the article was published; it depends on how the source is numbered; for example, there may be articles that were published in the year 2024, but which were not published until 2025 - here they are marked as 2024)

Library

This section is for searching and browsing publications and articles that are stored in the Lexicon database. It corresponds to the articles from the information monitoring and publications that were used to create the Lexicon pages.

Information can be searched according to the following criteria:

• title (name of the publication or article)
• subtitle (subtitle, sub-title or, in the case of articles, the name of the periodical, year, issue, page)
• ISBN / ISSN
• tag (books, journals, dissertations, conference proceedings, other publications, articles)
• author
• publisher
• source (for articles only: title of the periodical)
• year ( year in which the article was published - see information under 'News' or year of publication)

Pictures

This section is used to search and view records of images used within the Lexicon. In particular, it contains information about the images that can be found on the species cards, on the pages of the Atlas and in the "Introducing" block.

Information can be searched by the following criteria:

• title
• subtitle (online citation)
• author (author of the photograph)
• source (name of the source)
• year (year the photo was published)
