Patrice Bouchard

Research scientist and curator of Coleoptera at the Canadian
National Collection of Insects, Arachnids, and Nematodes, Ottawa

Pat is a research scientist at the Canadian National Collection of Insects, Arachnids and Nematodes. In this role he generates, analyzes and publishes information on species impacting the Canadian economy and environment, in order to support regulatory and policy decisions at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. He has traveled broadly, visiting ecosystems from tropical rainforests to deserts, and has described several species new to science. Pat has also been active in scientific organizations (at provincial, national, international levels) and is interested in developing novel, innovative, multi-disciplinary solutions to address complex problems.
